Beyond Borders – A European Solidarity Journey
Project Overview
Beyond Borders is an ultra-endurance challenge across Europe. From Monaco to Ukraine, Frédéric will run 4,200 km, climb 140,000 meters of elevation gain, and cross 13 countries in less than 60 days. He will also pass through places of European remembrance to honor the past and highlight the importance of preserving peace between nations.
Objectives: To refuse indifference, bring people together through sport, and transform every meter of elevation gained into concrete support for a humanitarian cause

At the end of the project, the final costs as well as the amount donated to the Swiss Solidarity will be published on the website and validated by the Association’s Committee.
With a strong commitment to transparency and maximum impact, the Committee ensures that the largest possible share of the funds raised is directly allocated to the cause. As such, only a limited portion of donations will cover the association’s operational expenses, while the vast majority of funds — 95% or more, depending on the success of the fundraising — will be dedicated to Swiss Solidarity’s support fund for the population of Ukraine.
Beneficiary Organization
Swiss Solidarity is an independent Swiss foundation that collects donations to support populations affected by disasters and humanitarian crises.
As part of the Beyond Borders project, funds will be allocated to aid programs for the Ukrainian population. According to estimates, 10.8 million people currently require humanitarian assistance in Ukraine, and up to 10 million may suffer from stress-related disorders, trauma, and anxiety.
Ukraine is currently facing a major humanitarian crisis at Europe’s doorstep. Many families have been displaced, including some to Switzerland. Supporting this initiative represents a commitment to solidarity with civilian populations who have been durably affected.
Project logistics budget
At the launch of the project in December 2025, the estimated budget exceeded CHF 70,000, before the arrival of partners and the many cost optimisations that followed.
The final budget, updated at the end of July 2026 just before the start of the journey, amounts to CHF 27,000. This significant reduction was made possible through extensive cost optimisation, including the removal of several budget items, the elimination of any financial contingency, each team member covering their own food expenses, the absence of the physiotherapist during the final two weeks of the crossing, and the protagonist personally covering a substantial share of the remaining costs.
This budget has now been fully secured through:
- CHF 12,000 from the crowdfunding campaign (after platform fees);
- CHF 5,000 in direct partner contributions;
- CHF 8,500 personally contributed by the protagonist;
- CHF 2,000 raised during the fundraising dinner.
Together, these contributions fully finance the project, leaving a small reserve of approximately CHF 500.
A heartfelt thank you to all the partners, donors, and supporters who made this solidarity crossing possible.
