Beyond Borders – A European Solidarity Journey
Project Overview
Beyond Borders is an ultra-endurance challenge across Europe. From Monaco to Ukraine, Frédéric will run 4,200 km, climb 140,000 meters of elevation gain, and cross 14 countries in approximately 60 consecutive days. He will also pass through places of European remembrance to honor the past and highlight the importance of preserving peace between nations.
Objectives: To refuse indifference, bring people together through sport, and transform every meter of elevation gained into concrete support for a humanitarian cause.

Beneficiary Organization
Swiss Solidarity is an independent Swiss foundation that collects donations to support populations affected by disasters and humanitarian crises.
As part of the Beyond Borders project, funds will be allocated to aid programs for the Ukrainian population. According to estimates, 10.8 million people currently require humanitarian assistance in Ukraine, and up to 10 million may suffer from stress-related disorders, trauma, and anxiety.
Ukraine is currently facing a major humanitarian crisis at Europe’s doorstep. Many families have been displaced, including some to Switzerland. Supporting this initiative represents a commitment to solidarity with civilian populations who have been durably affected.
Budget and Progress
At the end of December 2025, the overall project budget was estimated at CHF 75,000, including all operational costs (camper van, logistics, support team, food, fixed expenses, equipment, and communication).
Thanks to confirmed support and cost optimizations, the budget was reduced to CHF 70,000 at the end of January, and then to CHF 65,000 at the end of February. These reductions were made possible in particular through partial salary coverage for a logistics team member and the physiotherapist’s partially voluntary involvement, supported by her employer as part of the project.
At the end of March, a further optimization became possible: a logistics team member who could not obtain sufficient unpaid leave chose to dedicate two weeks of vacation to the project, allowing them to maintain their salary while reducing costs. In addition, the project founder decided to personally cover part of the expenses.
These adjustments now bring the overall project budget down to CHF 59,000.
Since April, the addition of new partnerships, the organization of a fundraising support dinner, and the provision of a campervan by BPM Campers have further significantly reduced costs, bringing the project’s total budget down to CHF 42,000.
22'000 / 42'000 CHF
A crowdfunding campaign dedicated to the project budget was set up alongside the solidarity fundraising effort. Its objective is to cover operational costs as quickly as possible, so that fundraising for the selected institution can begin as soon as possible.
A heartfelt thank you to all individuals and companies whose support helps accelerate the transfer of funds to the beneficiary organization.
Fundraising Goal
The symbolic ambition of this European project is to raise EUR 1 for every meter of elevation gain completed by the project founder over the 4,200 km route — representing a total of at least EUR 140,000.

The first contributions will help initiate the momentum of the initiative. At the end of the project, the final costs as well as the amount donated to the Swiss Solidarity will be published on the website and validated by the Association’s Committee.
With a strong commitment to transparency and maximum impact, the Committee ensures that the largest possible share of the funds raised is directly allocated to the cause. As such, only a limited portion of donations will cover the association’s operational expenses, while the vast majority of funds — 95% or more, depending on the success of the fundraising — will be dedicated to Swiss Solidarity’s support fund for the population of Ukraine.
